Just wanted to thank you & the band for a fantastic show at Dunstable on Fri. night.
Having been unable to attend your Camberley show in May, we travelled up from Fleet in Hants & despite the horrendous traffic on the M25 it was well worth the effort.
I think it's terrific that you keep John's memory & music alive in such splendid fashion & I look forward eagerly to your next tour.
Best Regards,
- Neil Atherton.
Hello Wayne,
I felt I had to contact you asap to thank you for such a wonderful evening at The Grove Theatre, Dunstable yesterday.
Weeks ago, when I saw the show was booked, I contacted my cousin (who lives about an hour away) and we decided it might be a good idea if they came to stay for the night and we would see the show together. Well, it turned out, it wasn't a good idea. It was a great idea as we all enjoyed the show immensely had a brilliant evening.
I didn't catch last year's show but I will definately try to catch next year's.
I'm sure I don't need to tell you how faithful you are to the look and sound of John Denver, and it was so good to hear all those great songs again.
I also like the AV element in the show, which seemed to add an extra dimension to it.
Of all the songs you sang last night, there was only one I hadn't heard before. That was 'I Want to Live', and I have to admit that I was so moved by the words and the video that I was reduced to tears. When we go out for the evening to enjoy ourselves, we tend to forget about others who don't get that privelidge and it does us no harm to be reminded of them and their suffering.
What a wonderful idea to give Jaime Lovett a solo spot. Like you say, she has a wonderful voice; and I was thrilled when she sang one of my all time favourite songs, Fields of Gold.

I have loved John Denver's songs since l974 and have almost
his entire collection! When I saw Wayne was to play in
Leatherhead I was really excited and the show was so good I
went to Worthing as well!!
I thought JD would be a very difficult person to emulate
and wondered if I would be able to engage but after a
couple of minutes there was "never a doubt in my mind"! Now
his music is revived in my heart and I can truly say -
thank you Wayne - and don't leave it too long til you come
"back home again!"
- Belinda Watt.
Just to say thankyou for a brilliant night in Worthing
yesterday. When John died we thought that we would never be
able to hear live performances of his songs again. Seeing
you last night night has changed that.
We will certainly come and see you again when you are in
the area. It was lovely to hear "Lady" as it is one of our
special songs. Say thanks to your wonderful band as well.
They were also brilliant. Keep up the good work. With best
wishes.
-Mick & Rita.
I went to your Worthing show tonight and thanked you for
giving me the chance to see the nearest thing to a John
Denver concert. He has been my idol for many years and my 3
children have been brought up listening to his music, in
fact my son took me to your show tonight and brought his
girlfriend along to appreciate his music.
I think John should be proud of what you do in his name,
you were extremely good. I was the lady who shouted for
"Poems Prayers and Promises" maybe you could do "Seasons of
the Heart" and "Shanghai Breezes" next time. Thank you once
again, it was a great night. (I was singing every word
along with you, silently)
-Bunty Nelson.
Thank You All for a great concert on the Isle of Wight last
night. You brought John back to life with your show and it
was nice to meet you afterwards.
Country Roads is a special song for us and it was great to
sing along. Keep up the GREAT work.
- Keith and Judith Walker.
Message: We had a really enjoyable night at the Medina
Theatre ( IOW ) last night. You are a fantastic tribute to
a great man. Please come back again.
We love the CD.
All the best.
- Alan & Chris Fisher.
My wife and I had a brilliant evening at Hertford on
saturday night. I have been a John Denver fan since the
early 70's and your interpretation of his music was spot
on. The fact that you covered some of his less commercial
songs was great as he recorded a wealth of material that
only die hard fans like myself would know.
Thank you again. Incidentally, the next time you visit
Hertford could you play for me A Country Girl In Paris from
the Higher Ground album. That would really make my
day!
With our best wishes to you and all the band,
- David and Sally Sangster.
Hi, Wayne,
I left the copy ticket on 2nd April, IOW 30th Anniversary
of the concert at Wembley Arena.
The Wembley date was, if I remember correctly, the second
night of three. It was filmed by RCA and highlights were
shown on BBC, but I missed them.
I have tried to find the show on dvd, but no luck
yet.
On the night, John said to the audience becuase of the
filming, "So if you're going to sing tonight, sing well,
and I'll try and do the same."
An interesting thing was that my previous ladyfriend and I,
when first together, since she liked JD I asked her which
was her favourite song, and she said "I Want to Live" which
was also mine, but I'd never seen it released in the UK at
the time! I got it in Saudi Arabia while with an American
company and the tapes being sold were from the states (or
copies of). So it was a great surprise that she had even
heard of the song.
A few years later, one morning, she woke and told me that
as she was waking-up she was hearing JD singing, 'Rocky
Mountain High' perhaps (it was 10 years back), and the
thing is, I hadn't told her that the morning before I too
had exactly the same phenomena, only in my case I think I
was listening to 'To The Wild Country.'
I think it was John's spirit gift to us for being
fans.
We also had wills that asked that only I Want to Live' was
played at any funeral or equivilient when the time comes.
All the best with your continued career.
We enjoyed the show.
Best wishes,
- Jim and Carolyn.
